Fall shoes 2022

fall boots and shoes

It’s about that time, Fall fashion is in stores with more on the way.

A change in season can be a good time to to update our wardrobes.

Updating your footwear is an easy way to feel fresh and current.

Your shoes can make or break your entire look. So take some time to be thoughtful about the shoes you chose to complete your look.

Keep reading as I’m going to share with you the footwear for Fall. Remember, I’m sharing what we’re seeing in the stores, to keep you current. It’s not that you have to follow the trends, but you want to be current and not look dated. If you missed my post about being current vs. trendy, see it here.

My rule always is that you invest in what you love, not what someone says is the hot new thing, just because it’s the hot new thing.

So let’s get on with it…

The main theme for Fall footwear is chunky.  We saw this last year and it’s not stopping.

The shoes for Fall

  1.  Lug sole boots-The chunky soles are very much the style and vibe right now. Almost everything in stores have chunky wedges and or heels. You can find knee high and shorter length with the thick soles. Here are a few that I think are great

2. Loafers– This year’s loafer is a little less chunky vs. what we saw last year. If last year’s options were just too chunky for you. This is your time.

3. Retro sneakers are hot for Fall, and I am HERE FOR IT! I am loving the look of sneakers with lots of outfits to give a little tension to the look (if it’s a dressier outfit with the casuality of sneakers). I also love suits with nice sneakers and dresses with sneakers. There’s a definite cool factor and edge when you introduce a pair of sneaks to a look where it’s not expected. Here are a few I’m digging. New balance has some really great options and one has my name on it!

4. Next up is the Clog!!

Yes, its back!, It started rearing its head last year, but didn’t really take off. It’s here again coming out stronger. I have always liked the clog, so I may get one this year. The Birkenstock Boston (linked below) has been selling out everywhere, so If you like it,  act fast… gotta say,  I’m not a fan of the Boston!  Nope, not yet.

I see them on others and they look ok, it’s’ all in how you style and wear them. It’s just not my style…yet. If you need some styling suggestions  just let me know.

5. In the midst of all this chunky and thick soles vibes, comes the ballet flat! Is this more your vibe? Well it’s your time. But not so fast, it’s not the same ballet flat from before. This year it has a few tweaks that really brings it into 2022 and looks much more current.

The 2022 Ballet flat has a much squarer toe, and also ruching like some of these here

6. The Western boot- now, I’m pretty sure you won’t be seeing me in any Cowboys boots this Fall or anytime really. This is really not my style. So I’m going to watch this one from the sidelines. As I encourage you to do,  for any trend or style that just doesn’t feel like you. I see it on other women with short and long dresses, skirts and with shorts, it’s just not my style.

In case it’s your style, here are some that are really cute

Those are really the key trends for Fall footwear.

I wanted to include an honorable mention: the white sneakers.

If the Retro sneaker isn’t your vibe, the white sneaker is a great option.

This year the white sneaker has a thicker/chunky profile, almost a platform.

Here are a  few that I’m loving

And there you have it!

You’re all set for Fall and Winter 2022.

Which style will you be rocking this year?
